- Master rental cost: $85 + tax
Please refer to the commencement website http://commencement.wustl.edu/regalia/ for additional information.
There is no limit to the number of guests you can invite and there is no charge for guests to attend. The Field House is quite large and can easily accommodate all of your guests. No tickets are needed for Olin’s ceremonies.
Parking is always difficult on Commencement Day. Visitors may park in any area of the university parking lots and garages except for those designated as accessible parking or loading zones. Because of a limited amount of parking, visitors are encouraged to take shuttles from your hotel or use public transportation. For more information be sure to look at Washington University’s Commencement website.
The best parking for access to the Olin Graduation Ceremonies will be in the Snow Way Garage (enter off Big Bend at Snow Way) or the Millbrook Garage (enter off Forest Park Parkway). From the Snow Way Garage, you can easily walk to the Athletic Complex from the top level by following the posted signs. MetroLink, the St. Louis light rail system, is an alternative to driving to the University. If MetroLink is convenient to your hotel or home, it is recommended that you use it. Exit at the Skinker Station, which is located just east of the Brookings Hall parking lot to attend the All-University Commencement Ceremony. Exit at the University City-Big Bend Station, which is at the corner of Forest Park Parkway and Big Bend Blvd., for a short walk to the Athletic Complex to attend the Olin Graduation Recognition Ceremony. MetroLink information is available at http://www.metrostlouis.org/.
A photograph will be taken of you the moment you receive your diploma, and then as you exit the stage there will be two posed photographs. Grad Images will email a proof to your permanent email and mail a digital proof to your permanent address about one week following the ceremony. Any prints you order will be mailed to you. You are under no obligation to buy any prints. Even if you do not order photos, you may keep your digital image.
Prior to the ceremony, you’ll be asked to confirm the accuracy of your name and post-graduation address. Be sure to pick up your name card at the tables in the Athletic Complex, Sumers Gym elevated track . The card has three purposes: it shows your name as it will be read during the ceremony, your permanent email, and the mailing address where the photographer will send any photos that you may order. Please confirm the accuracy of your name and post-graduation address, noting any corrections. Be careful not to misplace your name card, as you will need it for the ceremony.
Anyone with specific questions regarding the Athletic Complex should contact Andrew Koch at 314-935-4703. For all other questions relating to accessibility, contact Jenny Kraus-Smith in the Commencement office at 314-935-8186. Although a few wheelchairs will be available at the Athletic Complex courtesy of the University, these are reserved for emergency use only. If you would like to rent a wheelchair, contact Rosetta Saputo by April 30 at 314-935-5669. Additionally, you may contact Medical West Healthcare Center at 314-725-1888 or toll free 800-489-1888 for rental arrangements. An American Sign Language interpreter will be present during the ceremony.
During the ceremony, an ambulance service will be standing by in case of any emergency situation. Anyone needing assistance should come to the southwest entrance to the Field House, or alert a volunteer for emergency assistance.
